Alta Vista Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time RVT for their Treatment Department. The treatment team members are our superstars of all things patient care-related. These caring individuals ensure that all hospitalized patients are treated like one of their own while in our care.

- Surgical preparation, assisting and patient recovery.
- Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records.
- Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients and their pet parents
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude, including the ability to ask clarifying questions to facilitate effective solution-finding

Schedule: Treatment shifts are 10 to 12 hours in length and are a mixture of days, evenings and overnights on a rotational basis.
As a key player in a team environment, the RVT is responsible for the following:
- Assessment, triage, and, care of ill patients; Hourly treatments including feeding, administering medications, assessing pain/status, restraint, and, lifting; math calculations, Client updates.
- Additional duties: Anesthetics, X-rays, and, laboratory work; Stocking, cleaning, and, maintenance of treatment areas
- Required Qualifications: Veterinary Technician college diploma; Fluent in English (Reading, Writing and Oral); and, Able to support patients up to 50kg and lift up to 25kg.
- Skills: Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations; Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks / projects;
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and teamwork skills; Proven ability to organize, takes initiative, works independently, exercises good judgment; Decision-making and critical thinking skills; Exhibits a positive attitude and uses courtesy, diplomacy and discretion.
