COVID-19 Vaccinations
The Ontario Government has identified RVTs among essential frontline workers who cannot work from home as part of Phase 2 of the COVID-19 vaccination plan. The timing of Phase 2 is expected to be from April to July 2021, depending on the availability of vaccines.
Update: Effective May 11, 2021 at 8:00 a.m., individuals with at-risk health conditions such as dementia, diabetes and sickle cell disease, as well as Group Two of people who cannot work from home including grocery store, restaurant and transportation workers will be eligible to book an appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. In addition, effective Thursday, May 13, 2021, at 8:00 a.m., individuals turning 40 and over in 2021 in non-hot spot communities will also be eligible to book an appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at a mass immunization clinic. For more information view the government’s press release.
Proof of employment may be required by your Public Health Unit (PHU). Acceptable proof may include pay stubs, or confirmation of employment letters. Individuals are encouraged to consult their Public Health Unit for specific dates on when vaccines will be available. If you are unsure of your PHU, you can find your region here.
