Registered Veterinary Technician

Eagleson Veterinary Clinic is a full-service small-animal clinic (AAHA-accredited) at 58-500
Eagleson Rd, Kanata, Ontario. We provide medicine, dentistry, surgery, hospitalization, and
ultrasound. We are recruiting for a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
Job Duties
We are looking for candidates motivated to contribute in a client-focused team environment. The
successful candidate will have 3 years’ experience in the following facets of a small-animal
veterinary practice:
 Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
 Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery
 Produce radiographs, collect and analyse samples and perform other laboratory tests to
assist in diagnosis of animal health problems
 Assist veterinarian with animals before, during and following surgery by preparing
surgical equipment, administering and monitoring anaesthetics and cleaning up after
surgery
 Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of a veterinarian
 Administer treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian
 Provide wound and bandage care
 Conduct specialized procedures such as animal identification
 Educate and advise clients on animal health care including nutrition and home care
 Assist in laboratory research
 Perform routine veterinary dental support procedures (prophy, charting, radiographs) and
assist veterinarians with dentistry
 Place and maintain IV catheters; monitor and record anesthesia, pain scores, and recovery
parameters

Skill requirements
 Completion of a two- or three-year veterinary technology program.
 Active registration and good standing with the Ontario Association of Veterinary
Technicians (OAVT) by start date.

Full time, permanent position. Start date is as soon as possible.
