Registration & Fees

Q: How can I register to attend the conference?

A: Click the registration link at the top of the conference webpage or log in to your OAVT member account and click on the Events menu.


Q: What are the fees to attend the conference?

Q: What is included in my registration fees?

A: All Full Conference, One-Day and Sponsor / Exhibitor Staff passes include:

  • Admission to the Annual General Meeting, Trade Show, all continuing education sessions and the Conference Kick-Off sponsored by Veterinary Purchasing on Thursday, February 28, 2019
  • A delegate bag upon on-site check-in
  • Breakfast, lunch and breaks on the day(s) of the pass

Sponsor / Exhibitor Staff Passes also include access to the Trade Show during set-up hours on Thursday, February 28, 2019.

Guest Passes include:

  • Access to the Trade Show on the day of the pass
  • Admission to the Conference Kick-Off sponsored by Veterinary Purchasing on Thursday, February 28, 2019
  • Breakfast, lunch and breaks on the selected day

Q: Is there a student rate?

A: Yes, there are student rates as well as Student Bundles. For more information, please visit the Pricing Page.


Q: I’m bringing a guest with me, what is my guest allowed to attend?

A: Guests will have access to all meals and the Trade Show. An OAVT Recognition Dinner pass can be purchased for a guest as well. Guests may not attend any continuing education sessions regardless of the room capacity. Guests also cannot be RVTs, DVMs or other veterinary industry professionals.


Q: If I cannot attend, can a colleague attend in my place?

A: Yes, to swap your registration, please contact conference@oavt.org. All registration changes must be completed by 11:59PM on Sunday, February 10, 2019.


Q: What is the cancellation policy?

A: A Cancellation Fee of $50 applies to all cancellations made prior to 11:59PM on Sunday, February 10, 2019. Cancellation Requests made after 11:59PM on Sunday, February 10, 2019 will not be refunded. Cancellation Requests can be processed through the online portal or can be made in writing to conference@oavt.org.


Location Information

Q: Where is the conference held?

A: The conference sessions and all activities will be held at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ontario.


Q: What is the venue address?

A: The Scotiabank Convention Centre is located at 6815 Stanley Ave, Niagara Falls, ON L2G 3Y9. 


Q: Where can I make hotel reservations?

A: Hotel reservations can be made at the Marriott on the Falls. A direct link to make a reservation using the OAVT's special rate can be found by clicking HERE.

Q: What is the conference agenda?

Q: Can I wait until I arrive at the conference to choose my sessions?

A: Session pre-registration is only required for Hands-on Labs and Workshops which are selected during registration. All other sessions can be selected or changed at your leisure.


Continuing Education Credits

Q: Can I receive Continuing Education credits by attending the conference?

A: Yes, following the conference CE credits will be applied to all OAVT member accounts. Those who are not OAVT members can request a certificate by emailing conference@oavt.org.


Q: How many Continuing Education credits will I receive?

A: For attending both days of the conference, OAVT members will receive 12 Continuing Education credits. If you attend only one day, you will receive 6 credits. If you attend as a Sponsor / Exhibitor Staff, you will receive 6 credits for attending both days of the conference or 3 credits for attending one day of the conference.


OAVT Recognition Dinner sponsored by Petplan

Q: Do I need to sign up for the evening events beforehand?

A: Pre-registration is required for the OAVT Recognition Dinner. Passes can be purchased during registration.


Q: What attire is expected for the OAVT Recognition Dinner?

A: The OAVT Recognition Dinner is a sit-down, plated dinner to celebrate achievements of colleagues, co-workers and industry partners, as recognized by the OAVT. Business-casual attire is recommended.


Get Involved

Q: I’m interested in getting involved with the OAVT, what are some of the ways I can do this at the conference?

A: The OAVT values initiative and involvement of the members in OAVT events. If you would like to get involved, consider becoming a session moderator or booth volunteer. You may also consider getting involved as a speaker at the next conference! Visit the Get Involved page for more information.


Q: How can I become a presenter?

A: All of our speakers have been selected for the conference. If you are interested in speaking in the future, please contact conference@oavt.org
